This four-week, full-time (9AM - 4PM) program is free to participants and is funded by the Provincial Government. The program consists mainly of group workshops although there is some time scheduled for individual consultation. We accept a maximum of sixteen participants per group.
Eligibility requirements for acceptance into the COMPASS program include being unemployed (or working less than 20 hrs per week outside of the program schedule) and being eligible to work in Canada.
Before being accepted into the program you will need to meet with a Case Manager (sometimes also called an Employment Strategist) at a local Employment Resource Center to discuss your options and get a referral to the COMPASS program. The Case Manager's role is to share information about various programs including COMPASS and other employment related resources that are available to you. To find an Employment Resource Center in your area, please visit www.lmer.ca .
When you have the referral you can call us and make an appointment with a COMPASS counselor to do an Intake Interview - this entails some minor paperwork and a conversation with a counselor to see if the program is a fit for you.
After you have done an Intake, interested clients will be entered into our selection process which includes attending a short Information Session before the next program start date.
Please see dates of the upcoming Information Sessions and program start and end dates below.
